At Charted, we believe your personal information should remain personal. This privacy policy explains how we handle data in our app and our commitment to protecting your privacy.

Data Collection

Charted is designed with privacy at its core:

• No account required – You don't need to create an account or provide any personal information to use Charted.
• Local storage only – All app data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not collect, transmit, or store your data on external servers.
• No tracking – We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party tracking tools.
• No personal information – We do not collect names, email addresses, location data, or any personally identifiable information.

How the App Works

Charted fetches astronomical data and cosmic insights from our server to display in the app:

• Astronomical data – The app fetches lunar phases, planetary positions, transits, retrogrades, and aspects from our server. This data is universal and the same for all users.
• Cosmic insights – Weekly and daily insights are generated on our server and delivered to all users. These are not personalized or linked to any individual.
• Anonymous requests – When the app fetches data from our server, no identifying information is transmitted. We cannot track individual users or their usage patterns.

Notifications

If you enable daily notifications, your notification preferences (enabled/disabled and preferred time) are stored locally on your device. Notifications are delivered by Apple's notification system and do not require us to collect or store any personal data.

Third-Party Services

Charted uses the following Apple services:

• App Store – If you purchase a tip through the in-app Tip Jar, that transaction is processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or store payment information. Apple's privacy policy applies to these transactions.
• Push Notifications – If you enable notifications, Apple's push notification service delivers them to your device. Apple's privacy policy applies to this service.

We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data Security

Since all your app data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). We recommend keeping your device secure and up to date with the latest iOS version.

Children's Privacy

Charted does not knowingly collect any data from children. The app does not require any personal information and can be used safely by users of all ages.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store any personal data:

• There is no data for us to access, modify, or delete on your behalf.
• You have complete control over all app data by managing your device's storage.
• You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app from your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
